Lighting retrofit company, Value Energy Solutions has secured a lighting retrofit project for an indoor sports facility in New Hampshire. The facility, NH Sports Zone, supports team activities such as flag football, softball, baseball and soccer and sports league events.
The Sports Zone interacted with Value Energy Solutions’ Territory Manager, Tom Bolduc regarding the plan to minimize energy costs by switching to energy-saving lighting solutions. The company suggested retrofitting the current 460 W metal halide lighting with 6 lamp 320 W T5 High Bay lights. Accordingly, the Sports Zone bought 90 T5 high bays for the retrofit project. The new lighting solutions will save as much as 43% of power and minimize the maintenance costs as they are more durable compared to standard HID lighting.
The T5 High Bay fluorescent fixtures deliver an energy efficacy of 92.6 lm/W and an output of 5000 lm. The T5 lamps offer a color rendering index (CRI) of 85 compared to the CRI of 65-70 provided by the metal halide lamps. In addition, the T5 fluorescent solutions restrike and start instantaneously when compared to HID lighting that take more time to restrike.
