Varioptic Releases Programmable Liquid Lens with Optical Image Stabilization and Autofocus Functions

Liquid lens specialist, Varioptic has released a second generation Liquid Lens series that combine the features of Autofocus (AF) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The B617 programmable liquid lenses are suitable for use in mobile solutions including smartphones.

The B617 lenses are the first line of products in the Baltic product line to feature the combination of OIS and AF in a single element. They include no moving parts, enhance low-light image quality, compensate for handshake blur and support Auto-Focus. In addition, the lenses have been utilized in industrial, military, medical and consumer devices such as machine vision cameras, dental cameras, biometric & security cameras, bar code readers and full HD DV camcorders.

Varioptic lenses consume a maximum of 90% minimal power compared to Voice Coil Motor (VCM) actuator and are resistant to shocks. In addition, they have smooth and silent AF and OIS.
