Hamamatsu Exhibits LC-L5 UV-LED Light Source at Photonics West 2011
Jan 28 2011
Hamamatsu Photonics has launched a new UV-LED light source that consumes less power and emits a minimal amount of heat.
The LC-L5 UV-LED light source is the latest addition to the Lightningcure range of UV spot light sources. The company exhibited the LC-L5 light source at the Photonics West Expo that was held in San Francisco.
LC-L5 Lighting Module
The characteristics of the LC-L5 light source make it suitable for curing materials such as UV inks and UV curing coatings and adhesives. The light source illuminates a linear region with monochromatic UV lighting at 385 or 365 nm. It comes in two irradiation sizes such as 305x10 mm and 105x10 mm. The LC-L5 models are available in either 1200 mW/cm² or 1000 msW/cm². The light source also generates intense UV irradiation.
The light source offers significant advantages over other kinds of UV spot light sources as it is based on LED technology. The unit has a lifespan of 20,000 h. It is also lightweight and compact and can be deployed in space-restricted locations.
