Newport’s laser division, Spectra-Physics has introduced a new laser product called the Mosaic 532-11, a latest product in the Q-switched DPSS industrial laser portfolio.
The Mosaic 532-11 is a complete laser that integrates power supply and head into one package. This combination enables the laser to be integrated easily into gantry systems and machine tools.

The industrial laser has ultra peak power and has less than 15 ns pulse widths. It can function at high repetition rates, producing higher output and reducing unwanted thermal effects.
The Mosaic 532-11 is suitable for the production of photovoltaics, microelectronics and similar processes that need round the clock operation. Major photovoltaic production processes include scribing P3 and P2 layers on thin-film solar panels and edge separation of crystalline silicon wafers, while major microelectronics applications comprise de-flashing electronic package leads, arranging and ablating materials on PCBs, singulating or de-paneling printed circuit boards and scribing ceramics.
