OmniVision Launches CMOS Image Sensor for Digital Video and Still Cameras

Developer of digital imaging products, OmniVision Technologies has released a new 10 MP CMOS image sensor for high-end smart phones and digital video and still cameras.

The OV10810 provides dull convergence between full HD video and high-resolution still photography by integrating 10 MP burst imaging at 30 fps with native aspect ratio of 16:9 and complete 1080p HD video.

The 1.4µ OmniBSI pixel has increased signal-to-noise ratio and dynamic range as well as enhanced full well capacity and low-light sensitivity. The programmable scaler of the OV10810 offers 720 or 1080p HD video capture at a full field of view and 30 fps. In addition, the sensor supports a maximum of 8-lane MIPI or LVDS interfaces to deliver increased data transfer rates.

The OV10810 supports various merchant and custom ISPs and has a post-binning re-sampling filter that eliminates image artifacts near the edges and reduces spatial artifacts to provide crisp, enhanced images. In addition, it offers advantages such as real-time video and still image capture without changes to the resolutions, reduced rolling shutter effect, continuous shooting, and slow motion photography.
