Larson Electronis’ Magnalight has released an advanced explosion-proof fluorescent light for paint spray booth light applications.
The new EPL-48-2L-T12HB-SFC Class 2 Division 1 and Class 1 Division 1 fluorescent light include reflectors with high gloss finish as well as aluminum housings for increased efficiency, light output and durability.
The fluorescent light includes magnetic ballast options and high heat components, and is based on Magnalight’s EPL-48-2L explosion proof fluorescent light fixture. The EPL-48-2L-T12HB-SFC is upgraded with large magnetic ballast and T12-HO fluorescent tubes. This upgrade maximizes the operable temperature range of the light fixture to 165°C and makes the device suitable for operation under elevated temperatures.
The fixture comprises oversized, finned ballast boxes to facilitate the installation of large ballasts and to enhance heat dissipation. In addition, it has a high temperature rating that minimizes the durability to three years. However, the rating makes the fixture ideal for hot box applications. Heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes protect the fixture from damage.
