Rainbow Optoelectronics Materials Shanghai to Deliver InGan Solar Cells to BluGlass

Semiconductor company, Rainbow Optoelectronics Materials Shanghai will offer the services of device processing and fabrication for BluGlass’ nitride solar cell prototype.

The company manufactures semiconductor devices and offers nitride semiconductors particularly, LED displays to over 25 countries.

Rainbow will help in manufacturing the nitride solar cell prototype that was designed by BluGlass. In additinon, the foundry services at Rainbow will help BluGlass in outsourcing the Indium Gallium Nitride (InGaN) solar cell designs to a group-III nitride company.

If the InGaN solar cells show positive results, then the devices would be a cost-effective and durable solution. As part of the Climate Ready grant, BluGlass plans to develop solar cell prototypes. In addition, the company is handling the development of cell structure designs.
