Supplier of optical networking test devices, Digital Lightwave has introduced the new Fiber Channel Over OTN test system for the NIC platform.
The Fiber Channel Over OTN solution offers fiber channel testing services over high-speed OTN networks. It also verifies the performance of the OTN layer and the fiber channel service.
The Fiber Channel Over OTN solution is available on the Multi-Service Analyzer (MSA) range of modules. The MSA 2030 and the MSA 2020 modules have test options for NGN technologies, Fiber Channel, Ethernet, OTN, and SONET/SDH.
Fiber channel testing of Digital Lightwave supports all the features of headers, buffer-to-buffer flow control, fabric login, and node login. Broad non-intrusive performance monitoring offers insight into the performance of the fiber channel circuit.
Digital Lightwave’s Director of Product Management and Marketing, Tony Goodchild stated that in addition to the present fiber channel and OTN service test potentials, the company has the capability to measure 10Gb/s fiber channel performance across the OTN transport links. The company’s Vice-President of Sales, Tom Newhart commented that by offering support for testing the fiber channel service on the OTN network, the company is building on the OTN test technology and the 10Gb/s fiber channel test ability.
