Optiwave Systems Intorduces Latest Waveguide Optics Design Suite

Optiwave Systems Inc., the leading provider of optical component and system design tools, today announced the immediate availability of OptiBPM 9.0 - the latest version of its waveguide optics design suite. This new release delivers a new integrated simulator dedicated for the design of electro-optic devices in arbitrary materials.

"OptiBPM 9.0 is a pioneering effort in refining how simulation design tools are used by engineers working on the design of complex electro-optic devices," said Dr. Steven Dods, Product Manager. "Sophisticated electro-optic devices employing several electro-optic materials in arbitrary orientations can now be modeled accurately in one flexible simulation environment."

Additional new features in OptiBPM 9.0 include a simplified method of creating slanted waveguides in the design environment, 3D path monitoring, and a robust bi-directional data interface with ZEMAX, the popular lens design tool.

"We are pleased to see that OptiBPM continues to be the popular choice by optical device engineers who require a comprehensive simulation design solution," said Jan Jakubczyk, President and CEO of Optiwave. "Its not often you see a commercially available design suite which has been on the market for over a decade which has continued user growth. We thank our valued international base of users for making Optiwave their first choice."
