U.S. Patent Infringement Lawsuit Filed by Aperio Technologies

A U.S. patent infringement lawsuit was filed on June 10, 2009, against Hamamatsu Photonics K.K., Hamamatsu Corporation, and Olympus America, Inc. The lawsuit, brought by Aperio Technologies, Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, accuses products incorporating Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. NanoZoomer(R) technology of infringing Aperio U.S. Patent Nos. 6,917,696; 7,457,446; and 7,518,652.

Police authorities in Germany have invested in new traffic enforcement equipment from VITRONIC. The PoliScanspeed system has been installed on a section of road only allowed for busses and taxis, but frequently exploited by private vehicles. In the first week alone almost 1000 infringements were detected.
