||Rock Imaging Special Interest Group
||November 09-11, 2021
The International Rock Imaging Summit (iRIS-2021) will be held between 9 and 11 November 2021 as a virtual event.
This special interest group was formed after the 2020 virtual international summit on rock imaging for petroleum and mineral resources: iRIS-2020. There was enthusiasm among participants to do more. While many were already lining up to be part of the iRIS-2021 summit, there was also encouragement to arrange webinars on subjects of interest to the community. Indeed, there were calls to invite speakers from outside the relatively familiar rock imaging domain to stimulate ideas for new thinking. The webinar series has already been launched.
The Advisory Committee is pleased to confirm the dates for iRIS-2021. Although we had hoped to hold a regular meeting this year, the ongoing Covid-related disruption forced the organizers to abandon any thoughts of a physical gathering and to concentrate instead on delivering a virtual event of the highest quality.
The Call for Abstracts is now closed. Please contact the organizers or a Committee member if you want an opportunity to present at iRIS-2021.
Please join RISIG to be sure of receiving updates including the provisional program and news about speakers.
