Fujitsu Integrates AuthenTec’s TruePrint Sensor in its Entertainment PC

Fujitsu America has integrated AuthenTec’s AES2660 TruePrint smart sensor with lighted light emitting diodes (LEDs) in its latest HD entertainment PC, the FMV-BIBLO NW/G90T.

The FMV-BIBLO NW/G90T PC utilizes the Intel’s mobile processing platform, Calpella and is the first system to utilize the TruePrint smart sensor. The smart sensor provides easy navigation and enhanced security solution. The lighted LEDs, encircling the smart sensor, offer visual feedback for sensor activities such as navigation and fingerprint authentication.

Fujitsu’s Senior Director, Paul Moore, informed that the TruePrint smart sensor provides enhanced individuality, security and user feedback to their new entertainment notebook, and also improves its existing range of colorful functions. He added that the company is happy to integrate the smart sensor that will help enrich users’ experience.

Tom Aebli, Vice President, AuthenTec, informed that Fujitsu will introduce a number of notebooks that will feature the Calpella processing platform and the TruePrint smart sensor. Among these series, the new FMV-BIBLO NW/G90T notebook will stand out with its enhanced power-packed features. He further added that combining the sensor with the lighted LED offers a visual feedback of sensor features through color illumination. Aebli also expressed his delight that Fujitsu will be the first company to combine both lighted LED and smart sensor in its PC range.

The FMV-BIBLO NW/G90T, available in Japan, is a high-definition and superior resolution PC that features a Blu-ray player, digital television tuner, wireless remote control and multimedia speakers. The PC features an 18.4 inch screen size and a 4.0 inch second screen. It is equipped with the NVIDIA GeForce GT335M graphics card, Intel Core i5 430M 2.26 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB hard drive and HDMI output. The PC is supported by Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium.

The 192-pixel wide TruePrint smart sensor provides a number of sophisticated functions such as form factor options, biometric performance and multiple packaging. It consumes minimum electricity and reduces material costs. The LED drivers integrated in the sensor offer superior PC user feedback as well as alerts and notifications functions.

AuthenTec offers fingerprint sensor solutions and has recently extended its portfolio to include touch control, identity management and security solutions through its latest smart sensor software, hardware, IP and other new products. AuthenTec is an ISO9001-certified company.
