Raven Introduces New Solution for GPS Monitoring and Timing Applications

Raven Industries, Inc. today announced the GPS FiberLink fiber optic antenna link, a new solution for GPS monitoring and timing applications.

The GPS FiberLink joins existing Raven solutions for remote GPS antenna installations, including the patented, Raven GPS L1 Down/UP converter for coaxial cable lengths up to 1500 feet and GPS L1/L2 in-line amplifiers for length up to a few hundred feet.

Other GPS FiberLink features include:

  • The GPS FiberLink is designed to pass all the GPS frequencies over fiber from a few feet up to more than 2500 feet.
  • The GPS FiberLink will cover a frequency range of 700MHz to 1800 MHz, which includes all the future GPS signal frequencies.
  • Fiber optic cable will not conduct current induced by lightning, which is the ultimate in lightning protection.
  • The unit is designed to operate on 12VDC or 24VAC, allowing the use of low voltage NEC electrical wiring standards to be used at installation.

GPS FiberLink will be available December 2007 from authorized Raven distributors and dealers.
