New Compact Digital Camera Launched by Canon Australia

Canon Australia has launched a new camera model under its IXUS line of digital camera products.

The IXUS 300 HS digital camera features advanced photographic technologies that are incorporated inside a compact design. The new product release demonstrates Canon’s celebration of 10-year leadership in design.

The IXUS 300 HS is the first model in IXUS series to feature Canon’s high-sensitivity system (HS System). It is equipped with a DiG!C 4 image processor along with a back-illuminated CMOS sensor that offers 10-megapixel resolution. Among the other IXUS series cameras, this new model offers the highest quality in image capturing even in low light. The HS System also minimizes noise when the image is captured at increased ISO speeds.

The new IXUS camera from Canon incorporates the f/2.0 lens that allows more light to pass through. This enables increased shutter speeds and also minimizes the impact from camera shake, thus increasing the sharpness and quality of the image. Other capabilities of the digital camera include movie shooting in high definition with a new function namely Super Slow Motion, which helps to capture an object at a speed of 240 frames per second and playing the video back with high image quality at 30 frames per second.. Hence IXUS 300 HS can be used for capturing both high quality stills and videos.

The f/2.0 lens and HS System features together facilitate capturing the images without flash. This provides more natural pictures suitable for portrait photography. With 8.4 frames per second speed, the IXUS 300 HS offers the fastest burst rate among all the compact digital cameras from Canon.

In addition, the TruCapture technology of the camera enables users to easily capture the images they want. TruCapture integrates three proprietary technologies of Canon, namely, a DiG!C 4 Image Processor, Optical Image Stabilizer and Intelligent Auto. The IXUS 300 HS also offers controls for shutter and aperture, providing more flexibility.

The HD movie feature of the camera incorporates My Colour function that includes options such as Colour Accent and Colour Swap. The video content from the camera can be easily downloaded through USB connection and played back on High Definition TV through an HDMI connector.

The IXUS 300 HS incorporates an LCD that offers 3-inch wide angle view. The camera also features the Eye-Fi memory card connectivity that allows wireless data to be transferred to computers directly. With the Smart Shutter technology, the camera reduces re-takes while capturing a person winking or smiling. The dual purpose camera provides 3.8X optical zoom combined with optical image stabilization capability. To offer more creativity to the user, the IXUS 300 HS includes new scene modes that are fish-eye and miniature effects.
