In Store Solutions Announces New High-Definition Webcam for Skype Users

In Store Solutions today announced the availability of the FREETALK® Everyman HD Webcam (TALK-7140), the new high-definition (HD) webcam that empowers Skype(TM) users with true 720p HD video calling.

FREETALK® Everyman HD Webcam

Available for purchase globally from the Skype Shop, the Everyman HD Webcam enables HD-encoded video for only $49, about the same price as most standard webcams. The compact and lightweight Everyman HD Webcam requires no set up and is plug and play, making it especially convenient for use on the road.

"There is no higher performing, Skype Certified HD webcam than the Everyman HD, and the Everyman HD is available at just a fraction of the price of other HD webcams," said In Store Solutions Product Manager Mike Padmore. "Unlike most High Quality webcams on the market today, the Everyman encodes the video signal in real time, meaning you do not need to utilize all of your computer's resources while conducting a Skype video call."

  Product specifications include:
    --  High performance optical lens
    --  24-bit true color depth
--  Auto Exposure and Auto White Balance
    --  Auto Focus capability
--  Supports HD video encoding at resolutions up to 1280x720 at up to 22 frames per second
--  Skype Certified(TM) High Definition Webcam
--  Universal clip for attaching to a wide variety of displays and monitors

"In earning the Skype Certified(TM) mark, the Everyman HD earned Skype's highest rating for a webcam," said Ed Botterill, Certification Manager for Skype. "This webcam is engineered to give Skype users the highest quality high-definition Skype video calling experience, enabling them to feel like they are in the same room with their family and friends."

The FREETALK HD Everyman Webcam sends and receives HD video when used with Skype 4.2 for Windows and above, a PC with a 1.8 GHz dual-core processor or faster and a high-speed broadband connection of at least 1 Mbps symmetrical bandwidth.
