A Cost Effective Approach to Motor-Controlled Electrophysiology

After years of working with leading researchers world wide, Scientifica Ltd has launched the SliceScope Pro System, which will offer a cost effective approach to motor-controlled electrophysiology.

The SliceScope Pro features a highly stable compact platform, a narrow profile, and full motor control of objective, condenser and micromanipulators. The system comes with new pipette “follow” software, which allows the manipulators to move at the same time as the microscope stage or platform so that the pipettes are always in the field of view.

The SliceScope’s careful mechanical design, rugged and smooth motion crossed-roller bearings and the high performance drive system (with resolution of 20nm) ensures absolute stability and repeatability. Scientifica integrated their unique linear drive technology to reach exceptional low electrical noise, the system recorded less than 1 micron drift in 2 hours, making it ideal for slice recording and electrophysiology experiments.

The SliceScope has been designed to be versatile to suit all applications. The smart design is ready to accept a wide range of Olympus optics, accessories and light sources. Experimental techniques include; PatchClamping, Sharp Electrode Recording, Microinjection, Stretch Testing and other procedures requiring delicate and outstanding image clarity.

The system is available directly through Scientifica UK, or their world wide distributor’s network.
