New Ergonomic LED Illuminations for Stereomicroscopy

SCHOTT, one of the pioneers in the field of LEDs, is extending its VisiLED Series, well-established for many years, with an additional product range, specifically developed for use in stereomicroscopy.

Our R & D objective was to supply a high-quality, durable illumination range at an attractive price. Intelligent cost-saving measures such as doing without the external control box meant we did not have to make any compromises regarding quality and performance. Robust metal housings not only provide stability and high-value, but the excellent cooling properties make maximum brightness and a long lifetime possible. The EasyLED series consists of a ringlight, a transmitted light unit and a new spot. By integrating the electronics and control elements in the light head of the ring and transmitted light units, more space is now available on the work bench where the control box was placed up to now. At the same time the working ergonomics have been considerably improved as the controls are now placed directly on the microscope and can be operated “blind”. The operator's eyes stay on the eyepieces. The use of a “high brightness power LED” with reflector optics made it possible to construct a spot illumination that is light, slim-line and astonishingly bright. When assembled in a “swan-neck” holder the operator achieves an extremely flexible and reasonably priced point illumination that can also be used in applications other than microscopy. All EasyLED systems are supplied with a wide range power supply unit and a universal connector system, making unrestricted use possible worldwide.
