Amphenol Aerospace has a long history of providing rugged high-speed copper and fiber optic interconnect products for the military, aerospace, and industrial markets. Such products include: fiber optic termini, high-speed copper contacts, connectors, electronics, and cabling solutions. Amphenol's Ethernet Media & Interface converters with switching combine our expertise in fiber optics, high speed copper, and electronics packaging to create a new addition to our Integrated Electronic Product Line.

Our CTC/CTF Ethernet Switched Products are designed around 1G and 10G Ethernet and provide the following features fully integrated at the connector interface:

  • Up to eight channels of 1G and four channels of 10G
  • For copper based products for 1000Base-T and 10GBase-T, integrated physical interface conversion and embedded magnetic transformers
  • For fiber optic based products, integrated fiber to copper and copper to fiber transceivers for single and multi-mode applications
  • For both copper and fiber optic solutions, option for fully integrated Ethernet switch with Layer-3 routing.

Customers now can design their subsystems around Amphenol Ethernet Interface Products and remove complexity from their sub-systems. Amphenol Ethernet Interface Products provide sub-system to system translation (and vice-versa) and direct interfaces from off-the-shell CPUs and FPGAs. The decrease in complexity reduces risk to development programs, lowers cost, and enables customers to bring their products to market quicker.

Jared Sibrava, Business Unit Director of Amphenol Aerospace's High Speed Solutions Products says, "Amphenol's Ethernet Interface Products are all about giving customers flexibility in their sub-system architectures as it relates to copper and fiber-optic Ethernet system interfaces. Customers no longer need to integrate their sub-systems with an Ethernet fiber optic transceiver capable of up to 10Gbps, magnetic transformers, physical interface conversion chips, and Layer-3 routing switches. Amphenol's approach is complete integration and packaging of the functionality into a MIL-DTL-38999 package as well as having the modularity to allow many instantiations of our product. Our parts are rugged, naturally convection cooled, and seamlessly integrated allowing a drop in plug and play experience to customers."

Ryan Gagnon, Product Manager of Integrated Electronic Products for Amphenol Aerospace says, "Our CTC/CTF Ethernet based media & interface converters with switching are the next logical step in the expansion of our Integrated Electronics Product Line. Ethernet is the most ubiquitous computer networking technology in use today and system architects in the Aerospace & Defense sector are leveraging heavily upon it for their new designs."

Amphenol Aerospace will continue to develop and customize new integrated electronic products that when combined with our interconnect technology, meet the unique needs and requirements brought forth from the harsh environment market.
