Spectra-Physics Launches Explorer XP 532-5 Laser at SPIE Photonics West

Newport Corporation brand, Spectra-Physics announced that it has launched a new Q-switched diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser that integrates the laser electronics and head in a single package.

Explorer XP 532-5 Laser

The 5 W Explorer XP 532-5 laser has a small footprint with an air-cooled design and provides high-quality thermal management under conventional operating conditions. It can be easily combined with machine devices and is suitable for utilization on moving gantries in microelectronics, LED, and for solar cell manufacturing.

The laser device offers high-quality performance that includes high peak power for marking ablation tasks and short pulse width for minimal heat-affected zones. The high beam quality ensures enhanced depth of focus and spatial resolution. The Explorer XP 532-5 laser, based on Spectra-Physics' architecture offers high-quality pulse-to-pulse stability for higher yields and consistent processing. It is also useful for thin film PV manufacturing, LIDAR, memory repair, resistor trimming, and LED chip marking.

The laser device offers dependable 24/7 operation with high-quality durability even in adverse environments. It will be displayed at SPIE's Photonics West Expo that will be held in January 2011 in San Francisco.
