Developer of sophisticated digital imaging solutions, OmniVision Technologies and INOVA Semiconductors announced that they will unveil the APIX Link-based high dynamic range (HDR) camera system at Electronica 2010 in Germany.
The APIX camera system is developed using INOVA Semiconductors’ APIX Link data interface. The interface links numerous OmniVision OV10630-based cameras to a control unit.
The APIX Link system enables cameras to transfer uncompressed video over a single cable in real-time. This arrangement allows the central processing unit to have full control over all the cameras, even when the cameras are transferring images continuously over the link.
The OV10630 camera transfers full-processed, high-quality HDR video data at a speed of 30 frames per second. It utilizes an 80 – 96 MHz output clock for an 8 – 10 bit digital video port. The chipset of the APEX Link has the ability to attain zero bit error rate. It also supports the safety and control features of the OV10630 camera.
OmniVision’s Technical Marketing Manager, Dr. Mario Heid stated that the company’s automotive CMOS sensors enable high-quality sensing and imaging applications.
