AMS Technologies Introduces Compact High Performance Laser Diode Controller

AMS Technologies introduces VueMetrix latest product development, the Vue-LV-15.

The Vue-LV-15 is a high performance, low cost 15A, 2.5V laser diode controller based on a powerful new microprocessor. It uses a precise crystal oscillator time base for direct computer control of the switching power stage and a patent-pending software algorithm that produces extremely low noise current without dangerous overshoots or start-up delays.

This new product utilizes large scale IC’s to reduce the number of components in the system and increase the overall reliability. It features an all digital control system that eliminates the need for analog components such as op-amps, capacitors and resistors that form timing circuits and servo loop time constants.

The Vue-LV is available as a PCB assembly for embedded applications or as part of the OEM Developer’s kit. The Developer’s Kit turns an OEM solution into a bench top controller that helps you to accelerate your product development. Moreover, using the same controller in development and production means faster time-to-market and lower development costs.

The controller is used in material processing, medical systems and fiber lasers.

The Vue-LV-15 will be exhibited at Laser World of Photonics, München, Germany, 15.-18.06.2009, AMS Technologies Stand # B1.301.
