New Ridge Technologies' T+M Product Features OFS’ Fiber Optic Polarimeter

OFS, a leading manufacturer, designer, and supplier of fiber optic network products, has declared the introduction of industrial test & measurement (T&M) product from New Ridge Technologies that includes the OFS TruePhase IPLM inline polarimeter equipment.

OFS Truephase Inline Polarimeter

The TruePhase IPLM is an all-fiber, low form factor, in-line polarimeter equipment, finding wide application in the fiber optics field. The TruePhase IPLM ascertains the complete polarization state from precise calibration and computation of the Stokes parameters that are needed to control polarization mode dispersion (PMD), polarization dependent loss (PDL), degree of polarization (DOP), state of polarization (SOP) and the optical to signal noise ratio (OSR) precisely. The TruePhase IPLM is suitable for combining with diagnostic applications and telecom systems for T&M device and optical channel monitoring.

David DiGiovanni, OFS’s Chief Technology Officer said that the distinct characteristics of the TruePhase IPLM, like all-fiber structure, form factor, high-speed measurement and increased consistency, made New Ridge to complement its test platform with polarization analysis abilities. He added that these abilities match the polarization characterization requirements of several test and R&D labs in a finely packaged test and measurement solution.

New Ridge Technologies has expanded its NRT-2500 product series with the addition of the TruePhase IPLM Inline Polarimeter. The NRT-2500 is an effective and flexible polarization regulation platform designed to achieve a range of rapid, precise and consistent polarization applications. Currently, the platform provides randomizing, scrambling, setting, spinning and tracking polarization applications.
