Biodex Introduces Three-Dimensional Imaging C-Arm Table

Biodex Medical Systems has introduced the 3D Imaging C-Arm Table, which has been designed for specific use in procedures involving seed implantation.

The table is designed to use the 3D imaging C-Arm platform to assist in providing optimal images for many new applications such as gynaecology, prostate brachytherapy, urology, cardiology and obstetrics. Prior to the 3D-Imaging C-Arm Table doctors were able to receive only 2-D images. The new table will provide better 3-D images as it has a free moving C-Arm. Other features of the table include motorised adjustment of height and the capacity to make lateral Trendelenberg and roll movements.

The global imaging market has witnessed a steady growth over the past few years. However, due to the economic downturn, many purchase orders were cancelled or delayed. Now, many customers are placing orders again. As per Global Industry Analysts, the imaging market is likely to reach $3.5 billion by 2015. The rise of critical diseases and aging populations are expected to be the drivers for this growth. Though Europe has traditionally been the market leader, the US is also likely to be an important player in the 3-D imaging market. According to Biodex, this growth is also likely to increase the demand for imaging equipment.
