Newport, a company specializing in photonic and laser systems, has launched a new laser diode mount that can handle thermal loads of up to 61 W at an ambient temperature of 25°C using the air cooling system.

The 764H-061 laser diode mount can support both fiber-coupled and free-space diode laser bars, for extra convenience.
The 764H-061 features internal thermoelectric coolers (TECs) that allow enhanced power output stabilization and fine wavelength tuning. The laser diode uses the Newport 3700 high power temperature controller to achieve quick settling time, and at the same time maintaining the appropriate temperature regulation.
The high power 764H-061 is fixed to a top copper plate that is configured with various hole patterns for convenient mounting or integration. The top plate has an embedded thermistor sensor that offers feedback loop temperature control. The laser diode has other features, namely, power supply for the fan, and hardware kit for tabletop experiments.
