MKS Announces Newport™ ODiate® Raman Longpass Filters - Affordable, Precision Optical Filters that Detect Low-Wavenumber Raman Signals with Exceptional Sensitivity

MKS Inc , a global provider of enabling technologies that transform our world, has announced Newport ODiate® Raman Longpass Filters, precision optical filters specifically designed for Raman spectrographs, at Laser World of Photonics 2025 in Munich. Built on the advanced Newport ODiate thin film coating platform, ODiate Raman Longpass Filters are designed to deliver critical performance advantages for researchers and instrument manufacturers by enhancing signal clarity and simplifying system design. These optical filters provide ultra-high optical density blocking of Rayleigh scatter (≥ OD 6), high transmission of Stokes Raman scattering (≥ 93% Tavg), and sharp wavelength transitions (edge steepness ≤ 0.5%). This allows for the detection of low-wavenumber Raman signals with exceptional sensitivity resulting in a high level of desired signal vs background noise. The hard-coated dielectric construction of the optical filters ensures long-term environmental stability, durability, and high laser damage resistance.​​​​​​​

ODiate Raman Longpass Filters are ideal for confocal Raman microscopy, portable Raman systems, and industrial Raman probes in research and industrial applications. They empower high-precision measurements for material characterization, diagnostics, and drug discovery in such areas as materials science, biotechnology and medicine, forensics, and environmental science. The ODiate Raman Edge Filters are optimized to block 488 nm, 532 nm, 632.8 nm, and 785 nm laser lines, with additional wavelengths planned to support a broader range of Raman systems. Both standard and custom configurations are available. All filter configurations work in conjunction with MKS's Newport Richardson Gratings, optimized diffraction gratings that are widely used in Raman spectrometers.
