Vishay Launches New Analog and Digital Output-Enabled Mid-Range IR Sensors

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced new series of mid-range infrared (IR) sensors under its Optoelectronics product line. The IR sensors offer analog and digital outputs in three different package types.

The mid-range sensors feature 0.85 mA low supply current and 300 µs fast response time. When the sensors are applied as part of a reflective sensor and an interrupter design, they have a sensing range of up to 3 m, and 30 m, respectively.

The digital output-enabled TSOP5038, TSOP58038, and TSOP4038 IR sensors avoid common problems of object detecting sensors, as they feature a fixed gain. The fixed gain feature enables the detection distance and detection threshold to be fixed. After the determination of the optical parameters, the IR sensor will deliver repeatable and stable performance in all types of lighting conditions. The TSOP58P38, TSOP58038, and TSOP4038 IR proximity sensors from the company detect the presence, as well as the proximity.

The mid-range sensors allow diverse automatic fixtures and safety mechanisms to be deployed in industrial, business, and home settings. These IR sensors can be used as reflective sensors for hand dryers, toilets, LCD monitor power sensors, towel dispensers, faucets and urinals; and safety switches for elevator doors, garage doors, gates, industrial light curtains, and perimeter guards.
