For pint-sized photographers, point-and-shoot fun is just a shutter away with three new Crayola-branded camera products from Sakar International. New 5.1 and 2.1 MP digital cameras – each with its own new just-for-kids design plus entertaining Crayola Color Genie photo editing/activity software – are scheduled to ship in Q3, along with a new digital scrapbooking kit that pairs the 2.1 MP camera and software with accessories for dressing up printed photos.
Sakar's Crayola 5.1 MP Digital Camera (SRP $49.99) features a fresh, easy-to-hold form factor with large open handles on both sides, sturdy rubberized housing with splashes of color that seem to have jumped out of a crayon box, crisp 5.1 megapixel image capture, 1.5" preview screen, built-in flash, and SD card slot for memory cards up to 2GB (not included). Young photogs also get a Crayola-exclusive software CD with a photo editing center, "write a story" template, finger puppet and jigsaw puzzle creators, games, and printable photo frames – all enabling children to create permutations of their pics for hours on end. Ages 3 and up.
Sakar's Crayola 2.1 MP Changing Faceplates Camera (SRP $24.99) is a whimsical trapezoid-shaped point-and-shooter with three colorful faceplates that can be changed for variety and self-expression. It includes a 1.5" preview screen, built-in flash, internal memory for up to 100 photos, and Color Genie software. Ages 5 and up.
Sakar's Crayola Digital Scrapbooking Kit with Changing Faceplates (SRP $29.99) provides a complete package for creating, printing, decorating and showing off pics of the family dog or yesterday's play date. The kit includes the new Crayola 2.1 MP camera, three faceplates (two pre-decorated and one white version for create-your-own fun), Color Genie software, scrapbook, Crayola Pipsqueak markers, paper and stickers. Ages 5 and up.
All three products come packaged with a USB cable, wrist strap, user manual, and the Color Genie software CD. The cameras require three AAA batteries (not included) and are compatible with the most current versions of Mac and Windows.
The new products are being exhibited in Booth #1843 at the American International Toy Fair 2010 convention in New York.
They join a growing family of Sakar Crayola merchandise, including the seven-award-winning Sakar Crayola Digital Camcorder that was called a "magical tool" by one judging committee.
