Lenses

A lens is an optical device with perfect or approximate axial symmetry which transmits and refracts light, converging or diverging the beam.

The dual view system available from Navitar provides an ultimate solution in terms of versatility and adaptability. It features a single objective lens and presents it to two individual imaging channels.
A doublet Lens, or achromatic lens, utilises two different optical glasses, usually a flint and a crown glass, in conjunction to correct the aberration that is apparent with just a single piece of glass.
Traditionally lens surfaces have been sections of a sphere. For many applications this leaves spherical aberration as the dominant defect of any image so created. Aspheric lenses are used to correct these image defects.
Navitar offers an advanced, modular zoom lens system called Zoom 6000. This system can be easily customized to suit almost any kind of application.
These are good quality glass concave lenses. They are used to diverge light or sometimes tocorrect the image position in an optical system. We stock glass concave lenses either uncoatedor AR coated for visible and NIR applications.
Designed specifically for forensic RUVIS this is a full featured high performance UV lens. The lens has an extended magnification range by using a novel telescopic focussing mount giving a large movement in an extremely compact form. This is perhaps the first lens of any type that offers the capability to image objects from infinity down to 1:1.25 magnification without using add-on adapters.
This is the most common type of lens element. It can be used to focus, collect and collimate light. It is also useful as a simple imaging lens where image quality requirement is not too critical. We also provide precision grade plano-convex lenses with tighter manufacturing tolerances. For higher quality image, we offer computer-optimized achromatic doublet lenses and multi-element digital imaging lenses.
Plano-convex axicons, the conical lenses available from Altechna, are utilized in a number of applications.
The new OptiCentric® 3D provides an ideal solution for the complete opto-mechanical characterization of assembled optical systems. This approach integrates different lens analysis technologies and provides a valuable tool for the evaluation of complex optical systems in R&D or routine quality inspection in production.
These Aspheric lenses depart from the spherical surface of singlet lenses that, for many applications, may cause spherical aberration and impact the image quality. Knight Optical’s aspheric lenses are used for more demanding systems in imaging, microscopy, photography, telescopy and defence.
Bi-convex lenses are manufactured with an identical convex surface on both sides of the lens.
Singlet lenses are simple lenses that are used in most optical systems. In addition to being used in magnification and beam steering they can be used in conjunction with each other to give high performance in optical systems. These lenses are spherically curved on one or both of their surfaces and are suitable for most applications where the focus or collimation of a wavelength is needed.
Our Cylindrical and Rod lenses are used in laser systems such as borescopes, endoscopes and bar code scanners in the medical and electronic industries.
In keeping with Resolve Optics tradition of designing unique lenses we are able to provide NB lenses to meet your exact specification. If you can not find a lens, within our standard range that meets your requirements, please contact us to discuss the possibility of developing a lens for you.
Prior Scientific is proud to announce the latest addition to their wide range of illumination products for microscopy - the new Brightfield LED.
These meniscus lenses have one concave and one convex surface. In this lens type the two curvatures are chosen to minimise the spherical aberration at one laser wavelength, hence they can be useful to control a laser beam of the appropriate wavelength.
Fresnel lenses are primarily used in traffic and automobile lighting, as well as in applications that harness solar light, or detector systems where light is gathered.
These are commercial quality cylindrical lenses. Largely similar to the other types of cylindrical lens, the commercial grades are suitable for general use not requiring high quality such as experimental and educational demonstration use.
The motorization systems offered by Navitar incorporate magnetic Hall-Effect sensors in order to reference position location. Users can select to motorize just the zoom or can motorize both the zoom and focus axis.
A Ball lens is a sphere of polished optical material. Ball lenses are commonly used in communications applications where the coupling of fibres is required.
The OptiCentric MAX is a successor to the OptiCentric® MOT 300 instruments. It is designed to measure and also to assemble extremely large, heavy lenses. The instrument is used in the adjustment of wafer stepper lenses, for example.
Navitar designs and manufactures custom microscope objective lenses that are suitable for OEMS and researchers who demand optimized solutions for complicated applications, which otherwise cannot be addressed with conventional microscope objective lenses.
