Bosch Security Systems has launched a new series of digital video recorders called the Divar 700 Series H.264. The video recorders offer real-time 4CIF recording and feature a complete automatic device discovery and assignment as well as an integrated design and set-up wizards that enable rapid system installation. In fact, system installation of the video recorders is 50% faster than conventional video recording systems.
The Divar XF, also known as the 700 Series Hybrid Recorder, is specifically developed for those applications that utilize both IP and analog cameras. The Divar XF offers a complete video management solution and can support about 16 IP and 16 analog cameras. Another series called the 700 Series Network Recorders offer a complete IP video management solution and can store and manage videos in a single box. The network recorder can support about 32 H.264 IP cameras.
Both the recorders can automatically manage motion detection within the systems themselves, thus removing the need for configuration via a personal computer. The integrated design and the advanced H.264 compression technology of the recorders bring down storage utilization and software maintenance requirements by about 30%.
The video recorders offer a wide range of options for storing the recorded video. The recorders feature four internal hard disks that are enabled with RAID-4 technology to provide optimum protection of the recorded video and continuous system reliability during a drive failure.
Users can easily access the drives from the front portion of the unit and can add large-sized capacity disks when required. Bosch offers a storage expansion kit that can enable the recorders to save about 8 terabytes of video information. Users can also expand the capacity by about 120 terabytes and can integrate storage by utilizing iSCSI arrays, which allow maximum flexibility. Users can also use the recorder to integrate text information with the video. This feature is especially handy with license plate recognition systems for stolen vehicle searches and parking lot management.
The text support feature can help users to minimize shrinkage and detect fraud via remote monitoring capabilities for point-of-sale (POS) transactions or ATM. In addition to these benefits, the digital recorders also have a Smart Search feature that saves time by investigating only the motion activity within the chosen regions of the recorded video.
The digital cameras are suitable for commercial buildings, transportation, banking and retail stores.
