Basler Receives Several Contracts from LCD Industry

Basler AG – one of the internationally leading companies in the Vision Technology sector– has received several contracts since the end of April for the supply of inspection systems for generation 8 LCD glass.

The customers for the contracts amounting to a total value of more than € 2 million include global first-tier manufacturers of LCD glass. Installation of the inspection machines will take place during fiscal year 2010.

After having received a major order from the LCD industry for the supply of color filter inspection systems at the beginning of the year, the most recent orders mark the beginning of a new expansion phase in the area of display glass production. The latest market surveys predict the next large-volume investment cycle in the LCD industry during the coming years due to rapidly increasing demand for flat screen TV sets in China and India.

For Basler AG, the new orders confirm the positive trend of incoming orders for the Solutions business segment.
