e2v technologies to Supply Electron Devices and Microwave Sub-Systems to BAE Systems

e2v technologies, the developer and manufacturer of specialised components and sub-systems, announces the latest orders from BAE Systems for the supply of electron devices and microwave sub-systems.

The first order, worth £2.2m, is for the supply of radar components and subsystems for the radar platform on the Seawolf air defence system.

Further orders, worth $3.9m, have been made under a contract, signed in 2008, where e2v is the prime supplier of electron devices to BAE Systems against their contract with the US DoD for the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) Radio Frequency Countermeasures (RFCM) AN/ALE-55(V) fiber optic towed decoy system, for use on the U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F aircraft. These latest orders under the contract are for the low rate initial production stages.

e2v’s electron devices deliver the RF power used by the AN/ALE-55(V) towed decoy, which, when deployed, is towed behind an aircraft, protecting it against RF-guided missiles.

Following a 1-2 year ramp up to full production rates, subsequent order releases against the contract will be in the order of $6m (£4m) per annum, anticipated to be delivered over a 17-year period.
