Boost For Laser Alignment Detection Product Sales

Applied Scintillation Technologies Ltd (AST) reports that over 7000 of its 'credit card' style VISUALIZE® phosphor products were sold in FY 2008/9. The VISUALIZE® (VisualizeIR, VISualize and UVisualize) range of products use specialized phosphor coatings to provide a safe image of the beam for infrared (IR), visible to near infrared and ultraviolet lasers. This addresses the problems of profile measurements and component alignment of laser and laser diode modules.

AST Sales & Commercial Director, Stuart Quinn, said: “We have seen a particular increase in sales for VisualizeIR, which provides near infrared detection specifically for IR LEDs, IR laser diodes (including telecommunications) and Nd:YAG lasers. We also plan to introduce more products to the range, utilizing different phosphor coatings for more specific wavelength detection.”

The VISUALIZE® range provide optimum performance and safety for laser users, engineers and scientists. In addition to the credit card format for low power lamps and lasers, VISUALIZE® products are also available as a 25 mm disk and clip on wand, designed for applications where frequent component positioning is required, as well as a bench mounted head. This features a free-standing standard mounting post and post holder, allowing centre adjustments from 85 to 230 mm.

VISUALIZE® products feature emissions for safe viewing using goggles, with no fading even when continuously irradiated. They can be used in transmission or reflective viewing.
