MKS Announces Ophir® StarLab 3.30, Laser Power/Energy Measurement Software

MKS Instruments, Inc. (NASDAQ: MKSI), a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, has announced Ophir® StarLab 3.30, easy-to-use laser measurement software that turns a PC into a multi-channel laser power/energy display station. The new version supports expanded network access via the Ophir EA-1 Ethernet Adapter or Quasar Bluetooth Adapter, user-defined pass/fail limits, and multiple pre-defined startup configurations.

StarLab 3.30 provides graphic display of data in the form of line plots, histograms, bar charts, and simulated analog needles; data can be displayed separately or in multiple data sets on one graph. Advanced measurement processing functions include power/energy density, multi-channel comparisons, and user-defined mathematical equations. New user-defined pass/fail limits allow selection of the upper and lower bounds of an acceptable measurement. Then, working in conjunction with the software's Screen Capture feature, the user can generate final inspections reports. Users can also pre-define a variety of different startup configurations.

StarLab 3.30 now supports an expanded set of network adapters. The Ophir EA-1 Ethernet Adapter connects Ophir's smart laser sensors directly to an Ethernet network, no PC connection required. The Ophir Quasar Bluetooth Adapter is a wireless Bluetooth interface that broadcasts laser meter data to any PC or laptop within 10 meters.

StarLab 3.30 works with all types of Ophir sensors. Data can be collected from thermal, pyroelectric, and photodiode heads using any of Ophir's laser power/energy meters, PC interfaces, or combinations of the two.

Availability & Pricing

StarLab 3.30 laser measurement software runs on Windows® XP/7/8/10, 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The software is available now. OEM prices available on request.
