A leading Polish cable TV operator, Multimedia Polska, has deployed the Tellabs® 7100 Nano™ Optical Transport System to extend its optical transport network.
Multimedia Polska delivers digital TV with video on demand, broadband and mobile data, as well as fixed-line and mobile voice services, to 825,000 customers across Poland. Facing a growing customer base and increasing demand for high-speed bandwidth services, the company decided to expand its optical transport network to support the delivery of new services to customers.
Multimedia Polska, a long-time Tellabs customer, chose the Tellabs 7100 Nano OTS, based on its proven reliability and scalability. The port density and low power consumption of Tellabs' solution helped clinch the deal.
Tellabs also provided professional services such as network design and delivery, including installation and commissioning. Tellabs will deliver training and handover to Multimedia's operational team to ensure effective ongoing support of the new network. The new Tellabs network is being deployed now and will go live early this year.
