Fujifilm to Showcase Portable Digital Radiography System at AAEP in Nashville

FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc., a leading provider of diagnostic imaging products, will showcase a new Digital Radiography (DR) system, the FDR-flex at the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) in Nashville, Tenn.

Fujifilm’s FDR-flex is a smart and portable DR solution uniquely suited for equine and mixed animal practices because it is lightweight, highly portable, wireless and uses any FDR D-EVO flat panel detector.

“It’s exciting that we can offer a unique product that’s extremely compact and battery-powered. With Fujifilm’s FDR-flex, veterinarians can work with any x-ray machine as our panels automatically sense x-ray,” said Eddie Massetti, manager, Distributor & OEM Sales, FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. “The D-EVO panels require lower dose to penetrate and enable veterinarians to cut their exposure times. We’ve seen reductions anywhere from 20% to 40%.”

The FDR-flex features Fujifilm’s FDR D-EVO wireless flat panel detector with exclusive Irradiated Side Sampling (ISS) technology and Dynamic Visualization image processing that enhances sharpness while decreasing radiation dose. The FDR-flex can instantly upgrade any analog portable, x-ray room or remote location with exceptional image quality as it does not need any integration or wires to the x-ray unit using Smart Switch technology. The 16 Ib. three piece system consists of a wireless FDR D-EVO flat panel detector, FDX Console workstation laptop and supporting communications box.

“Technology plays a key role in caring for our horses. In our ongoing efforts to offer state-of-the-art service, we are pleased to announce our most recent upgrade: Fujifilm’s FDR-flex,” Christopher B. Miller, DVM, Miller & Associates. “With a portable X-ray unit, we can provide a confident diagnosis at home or on the road; this is important and it allows us to provide the best care available.”

The FDR-flex is available immediately through authorized Fujifilm dealers. For more information, facilities can contact their local representative or visit www.fujiprivatepractice.com.
