Optelian today unveiled its Intuitive Packet Optical Networking™ solution to address the exploding demand for packet-based service delivery. By virtualizing the underpinning technology and complexity of layer 0, 1, and 2 infrastructure, Intuitive Packet Optical Networking enables service providers to deploy Ethernet and wavelength services more quickly, accelerating their time to revenue.

Leveraging MPLS-TP technology, Optelian’s PKX-1640 Packet Networking Card is a 20-port 200 Gb/s state-of-the-art Carrier Ethernet switch. It delivers Ethernet service aggregation and multiplexing, extensive OAM, rapid protection switching, and MEF-standardized CE 2.0 services. This builds on Optelian’s widely deployed solutions, such as the MPX-9110 Flexible 100G Platform, and OMS-7190 and OMS-2190 platforms.
