The most unique feature of the new Leica Disto E7500i laser distance meter is the ability to transfer measurements via Bluetooth to Apple's iPhone and iPad devices. Bluetooth Smart technology wirelessly transfers data from the E7500i to nearby iOS devices, where users can work with the data within Leica's free sketch app. The app allows users to create simple sketches or add measurement data to images captured by the devices camera. The digital viewfinder, another Leica exclusive, has been improved with a faster processor and offers the best outdoor viewing of any comparable device.
The Leica Disto E7500i can take measurements well beyond the capabilities of ordinary distance meters. It has a 360-degree tilt sensor, which combines with the digital viewfinder to allow for easy measurements of atypical objects, contours, and structures. In the past, obtaining these readings may have required multiple personnel and manual calculations. The Disto E7500i automates these complex measurements, saving time and reducing costly errors.
On construction sites, durability is an indispensable quality in a distance meter. The Leica E7500i sets the standard for durability, earning the highest rating of any laser distance meter on the market. The Disto E7500i is IP65 rated due to the sturdy design which allows it to withstand 6ft drops onto concrete and superior seals that repel jet-sprayed water and windblown dust. Bright sunlight impairs the operation of inferior distance meters. The Disto E7500i, however, is designed to work in full-sun conditions.
