LED Medical Diagnostics and DenMat Holdings have entered into a strategic alliance to boost marketing and global sales of oral cancer detection device, VELscope Vx.
LED Medical Diagnostics, the manufacturer of VELscope for early-stage detection of oral cancer, helps clinicians save lives and decrease mortality. The device has been approved by FDA, Health Canada as well as other European regulators. The device is also used in detecting pre-cancer and other diseases of the mouth, such as fungal, viral and bacterial infections.
LED Medical Diagnostics’ subsidiary, LED Dental, manufactures the Velscope Vx Enhanced Oral Assessment System. Velscope Vx devices are the first to use the technology of tissue fluorescence visualization. This oral cancer device conducts more screening than other adjunctive detection devices. It is estimated to have performed 20 million examinations with a sale of over 12,000 units.
DenMat is a dental manufacturer, distributing and marketing a range of cosmetic, clinical and restorative dentistry solutions in the U.S. and in more than 68 countries worldwide. Other ongoing partnerships of DenMat continue to keep its position ahead in the dental industry. LUMINEERS, the contact- lens slim veneers that are placed without the requirement for anesthetic, temporaries or extensive prepping, is the basis of DenMat's Smile Portfolio. DenMat also offers education programs globally along with Destination Education events across the U.S.
LED's Ffounder and CEO, Peter Whitehead stated that this alliance with DenMat will produce an influential and visible group of oral cancer screening in the world. It will also provide LED Medical Diagnostics with more resources and time to focus on developing other products.
