iWatt, a supplier of digital-centric power management integrated circuits (ICs), has recently declared the delivery of 100,000 LED driver ICs for applications in high-power street lights of 200 W.
iWatt is renowned for its high-performance ICs that act as an excellent power source for media tablets and smart phones. Besides its energizing capability, iWatt’s IC can also retrofit LED-backlit LCDTVs and LED SSL lighting. iWatt’s PrimAccurate technology removes the requirement of optical isolators in off-line power supplies and also reduces bill-of-material (BOM) expenses, leading to enhanced reliability. The iWatt installation includes two stages - AC/DC converters and a power factor correction (PFC) circuit which can affordably and effectively replace conventional three-stage solutions having PFC circuit, and an AC/DC stage followed by DC/DC converters.
