MKS Instruments Receives Follow-On Order from Chinese Solar Cell Manufacturer

MKS Instruments announced that a Chinese solar cell manufacturer has placed a $10 million follow-on order for its new RF power supplies, advanced control solutions and matching networks.

MKS’ equipment will be utilized in the manufacture of photovoltaic (PV) thin film solar cells in China. The company will ship the equipment in the second quarter of 2011. MKS offers process control solutions, subsystems and instruments for advanced production processes.

MKS Instruments’ CEO and Vice President, Jerry Colella stated that the Chinese company selected MKS in view of the high performance of the RF generator. He added that the comprehensive technical support of MKS also aided in securing the order.
