Altechna Releases Variable Attenuator for Femtosecond Lasers

Altechna has rolled out a new continuous variable attenuator for linearly polarized laser beams. The Watt Pilot is suitable for high energy and femtosecond laser applications.

Watt Pilot

The Watt Pilot includes polarizers and a rotating Phase retardation ë/2 Waveplate mounted in a precision opto-mechanical holder. The attenuator splits the laser beam into numerous beams featuring manually variable intensity ratio. In addition, the device delivers a high optical damage threshold.

The laser beam’s intensity can be controlled manually across a large dynamic range. Altechna has developed numerous Watt Pilot models to support the current laser sources.
