Cree, a company specializing in LED lighting, announced that the Cree XLamp XM-L LEDs are commercially available in the lighting market. The LEDs are suitable for high-lumen applications including roadway or high-bay lighting.
Single-Die XLamp XM-L LEDs
The 6500 K cool white XLamp XM-L LEDs offer a brightness of 1000 lm with an efficiency of 100 lm/W at 3 A current. The LEDs have a compact footprint of 5x5 mm and provide high light output with 160 lm/W efficiency at 350 mA. The XMs-L LEDs offer a maximum light output of 315 lm at an efficiency of 150 lm/W at 700 mA.
The Director of Advanced Optoelectronics at Cree, John Edmond stated that the XLamp XM-L LED could transform the way the company’s consumers look at the LED light. He added that an efficient LED could speed up the development of efficient commercial lighting solutions and enable new applications.
