The camera models feature the new Kodak KAI-4050 CCD sensor that offers fine image quality at increased image capture rates. The aviator models offer features, namely, global shutter technology and progressive scan readout.

The aviator camera series are ideal for redesigning machines that use conventional Kodak sensor cameras, as machine throughput can be maximized owing to the higher frame rate. The cameras can optimize applications, including traffic applications, medical imaging, metrology, electronics manufacturing, or semiconductor manufacturing, with minimal investment.

The Basler aviator models provide fine imaging results with respect to noise level and dynamic range due to the Kodak sensor experience and Basler Camera Link interface. The aviator cameras provide a C/C++ high level programming API that is based on the pylon platform of Basler. In addition, the cameras provide register-based type of interface that is utilized with Camera Link cameras.
