New Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier from Luxpert Technologies

Developer of optical sub-systems, Luxpert Technologies has launched a new miniature single EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier), LXM-AMPY EDFA.

The cost-effective EDFA is the new addition to the company’s optical amplification subsystem product line.

The EDFA has power consumption of less than 1.5 W, and it can be utilized in a pre-amplifier, line, or booster configuration. The single channel EDFA includes an intelligent command interface that is accessible through I2C or RS-232, for monitoring and control.

Luxpert Technologies’ Chief Executive Officer, Loe Byun stated that the LXM-AMPY miniature EDFA could play a vital role in the applications of subsystem and system, where a low power, small footprint is needed. Such applications might include 40G receivers and transmitters, and ROADMs. He added that their expertise in optical subsystem designing has enabled to reduce the power and size, without compromising on performance.
