AiDi Launches 1x128 PLC Optical Splitter

AiDi, provider of optical products, announced that it has upgraded the Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) optical splitter technology and launched a new 1x128 PLC splitter solution.

AiDi, by using the waveguide design techniques, announced substantial PDL characteristics and insertion loss in a product. The product is developed by utilizing the same methodologies, which were qualified by Telcordia.

For Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) systems, very high port count splitter is crucial for urban locations, where the density in the central office is crucial for cost-efficient installations. By enhancing the number of houses per Optical Line Termination (OLT), the space available in the CO device rack can be utilized very effectively.

AiDi’s President and Cbhief Executive Officer, Kenzo Ishida stated that the company was the first to introduce the 1x64 splitter in the market in 2007.
