FGX International revealed that its lighted reading glasses, LightSpecs by Foster Grant, won the Best Product award under the General Merchandise category. The award was presented at the National Association of Chain Drug Stores Marketplace 2010 (NACDS), which is a trade show for chain drug suppliers and retailers.

LightSpecs is one of the most creative products ever developed in the reading glasses category. The glass incorporates magnified lenses in combination with LED lights, which can be used in places where more light is needed such as reading on airplanes, in restaurants that are dimly-lit, or while in bed. The optical-quality lenses of the reading glass are offered in different diopters. In addition, LightSpecs includes features such as batteries that are easily replaceable and has a lifetime of more than 50 hours.
The CEO of FGX International Alec Taylor stated that the LightSpecs is an innovative series of reading glasses under the leading Foster Grant brand. He further added that the company would considerably invest in media for the launch of the product.
