Analog interface components supplier, Avago Technologies has introduced its new HFBR-3810Z (FO) Fiber Optic short link receiver/transmitter for medical and recyclable energy applications. The 10 MBd transmitter finds its usage in isolating power converter and frequency inverter applications.

The FO technology has a 24.96 mm pin-to-pin distance that offers a suppressed transient voltage of 12 kV. The HFBR-3810Z enables the galvanic isolation on a single PCB and offers a range of compact designs. The FO systems have a greater clearance and creepage specifications than that of the optocoupler devices.
The Avago receiver/transmitter shows remarkable EMC and EMI resistance characteristics. The fiber optic device delivers a remarkable performance in high noise settings, which are present in motor control and high voltage switching systems. The short link system has a DC-coupled data link that necessitates no digitizing or data encoding circuitry. The FO transmitter gives a CMOS/TTL output. The receiver comes with a metal shield version and is compliant to RoHS.
Avago Technologies also provides several IGBT/Power MOSFET gate drivers, fiber optic receivers, transmitters, and optocoupler isolation devices for solar and wind farm power generation.
