FARO Adds New Break-Resistant SMR to its Laser Tracker Targets Line

The accuracy of the SMR is equal to the conventional SMR, which is made of glass panels. The device is also cost-efficient and some of them costs lesser than the conventional glass panel SMR.

The new laser tracker targets are offered in high performance, long range, and standard accuracy models. The high performance and long range models has the potential to track a maximum of 55 meters using the FARO Laser Tracker ION. The high performance SMR delivers 80% more accuracy when compared to the earlier FARO models.

FARO has also launched new family of patented window SMRs. These laser tracker targets are break resistant and deliver superior performance in adverse conditions. Any laser tracker measurement system can be combines with the SMRs from FARO.

The CEO of FARO, Jay Freeland, said that the aim of the company is to offer high-quality accessories that facilitate optimal performance of the devices. He also noted that the company would make the new SMRs affordable to more of their customers. The FARO’s Product Management Director, Ken Steffey, stated that the new SMRs have single element retroreflector, which ensures that no glass panels to be broken or shifted over time.
