Form Talysurf PGI 840 – High-Precision Metrology for Integration with Machining for Aspheric Optics from Taylor Hobson

Ultra-high precision processes such as single-point diamond turning enable aspheric lenses to be manufactured with small tolerances down to small fractions, reducing wave front aberrations to insignificant levels. In order to achieve such precision levels, metrology must be completely integrated with machining. The Form Talysurf PGI 840 offers this feature by directly exporting measurement results back to the machine tool, creating a corrective 'feedback loop'. New custom styli expand the range of applications measured using the PGI 840.
