Uniclad Fiber

Silica Core / Silica Clad / Polymer Coated Fiber

The Universal Clad (UniClad) optical fibers provided by Fiberguide Industries include Silica Core/ Silica Clad / Polymer Coated fibers that have been specifically designed to be utilized in high power transmission applications as well as other areas that require large cladding that is beneficial and relative to the core. With a fixed 500 µm cladding diameter and a core size within the range of 100 µm to 400 µm, the UniClad optical fibers allow for both laser alignment and splicing processes to be easily achieved. Note that the larger 600 µm and 800 µm core size options are typically used for larger cladding.

Silica Core / Silica Clad / Polymer or Metal Coated Fiber

Both the SFS and AFS optical fibers provided by Fiberguide Industries are typically used in photonic applications that primarily require individual or bundled large core multimode fibers, with diameters less than or equal to 50 µm, that allow for the transmission of optical energy. The SFS and AFS fibers can be coated with a wide variety of polymers, as well as metalized if extreme temperature performance is required.
